Well it’s nearly Christmas, so here are some warm up games for the holiday season. Some are great, some are ok, and some are utterly bonkers. One things in common? They’re all free. Bargain.
PS4
Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture – BAFTA winning story game, Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture has you uncovering the mystery of a vanished community.
The Deadly Tower of Monsters – sci-fi top down shooting action with lots of references to classic science fiction films.
PS3
DiRT 3 – the pinnacle of Codemasters Dirt series (prior to Rally), DiRT 3 gets the handling right, the various racing modes right and wraps it up into an exciting package. Head to our review here.
Costume Quest 2 – a role playing game from Double Fine Productions, taking place on Halloween, you and friends will need to save Halloween from the evil Dr. Orel White. Can you?
PS Vita
Letter Quest Remastered – interesting take on a RPG battle game where you have to spell words to fight monsters, earn gems and purchase upgrades.
Pumped BMX+ – hard to recommend, basically a Facebook game version of the hit Trials franchise. It’s basic and feels like a Facebook game turned into a console one. Review’s right here.
Xbox One
Super Dungeon Bros (Nov 1st – 30th) – Bro! Top-down dungeon crawling action with colourful characters.
Murdered: Soul Suspect (Nov 16th – Dec 15th) – having been murdered, you must use your supernatural abilities to work out what happened and solve the mystery. Very decent, take a look at the review.
Xbox 360 (and Xbox One)
Monkey Island: SE (Nov 1st – 15th) – the classic point-and-click game gets the upgrade treatment. If you haven’t played this already you probably should.
Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon (Nov 16th – 30th) – the FarCry 3 engine gets sucked into 80s adrenaline-fuelled neon paradise of action films and video games from around that time. Hard to explain, you need to see this – start with our review.
