Happy summer holidays everyone. For those of you not going away, there’s a decent selection of free games to keep you going:
WipeOut Omega Collection (PS4) – the classic futuristic race is back on PS4 in the best collection of WipeOut. This is the best WipeOut has been. And it’s brilliant.
Sniper Elite 4 (PS4) – Want to shoot Nazi’s in the nuts, in ridiculously graphic detail? Then here is Snipe Elite 4
Gears of War 4 (August 1 to 31 on Xbox One) – the dude bro series featuring monsters and chainsaws. Gears hasn’t really ever changed that much but this is the most refined version yet.
Forza Motorsport 6 (August 16 to September 15 on Xbox One) – speaking of refined versions, Forza 6 is pretty good. Like Gears 4, it doesn’t do much to reinvent the series but if you haven’t played Forza 7, this is the next best thing.
Torchlight (August 1 to 15 on Xbox One and Xbox 360) – top down action by way of being a Diablo clone which does more than enough to hold its own as a quality game in its own right.
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow (August 16 to 31 on Xbox One and Xbox 360) – a reboot of the Castlevania series, it’s been well received but whilst it adds some new elements, not everyone was too happy of other classic elements removed.
